Embracing Tradition: DPS International School Sojat’s Rakshabandhan Celebration

On the joyous occasion of Rakshabandhan, DPS International School, Sojat, sends heartfelt wishes to all. The festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and cultural pride on August 17, 2024, where students participated in traditional rituals that highlight the spirit of this sacred festival.

As part of the celebration, girl students tied Raksha Sutras to their fellow students, symbolizing the bond of protection, unity, and love that Rakshabandhan represents. The event was filled with warmth and respect, as students embraced the cultural heritage of this beautiful festival.

Teacher Birjesh Sharma enriched the occasion by sharing stories from Indian mythology, highlighting the origins and significance of Rakshabandhan. He spoke of its deep-rooted connection with Indian tradition, where the act of tying a thread symbolizes trust, love, and protection. Adding to this, Teacher Mukesh Sharma explained that festivals in Indian Sanatan culture serve as symbols of the purity of relationships, and Rakshabandhan stands as a powerful representation of the sacred bond between brothers and sisters.

Principal Mrs. Tamanna, in her address, stressed the importance of celebrating these traditional festivals in schools, stating, “It is through such celebrations that we keep our culture and traditions alive for the younger generation to understand and cherish.” She praised the students for their enthusiastic participation and encouraged them to value these cultural occasions.

The Managing Director of the school, Mr. Dhanpat Raj Tak, also conveyed his best wishes to all present, reinforcing the importance of nurturing values such as love, protection, and respect in today’s world.
